Hino is part of the Toyota Group of Companies. Hino manufactures about 80,000 trucks per year and is by far Japan’s leading truck and bus manufacturer. The company made a radical shift two years
ago when it came to the conclusion that North Americans don’t like cabovers. It abandoned its cabover style for the US and Canadian markets and introduced a lineup of short-nosed conventionals.
However, the company continues to make cabovers for the rest of the world. Driver comfort figures
strongly in Hino trucks. Power windows, tilt steering A/C and CD stereo and cruise control are standard features. And even more importantly, the Hino headlamp lighting system
has improved by 100 per cent.
