In 1924, Kenworth sold 80 trucks and production a year later neared two trucks per week. Even in those early years, Kenworth was dedicated to the custom truck.
Under the guidance of Vernon Smith, a master Kenworth salesman responsible for building sales at that time, the custom truck became the hallmark for Kenworth.
Good fortune came to Kenworth in 1933 when it became the first American truck manufacturer to install diesel engines as standard equipment. It was a major development
that allowed Kenworth to develop a powerful and durable line of diesel trucks.
Please note: Should you or a friend have some type of used truck for sale and you wish to advertise it free on this website, just send a
picture of the truck along with details on the truck and an email address or phone number where you can be contacted. I am willing to
leave such ads on Classy Trucks for two months free of charge as long as you will let me use the photo later on one of my regular pages.
